I want to use the Diamantik Bearings now.
Usually I open my bearings on one side before I ride them.
But because the Diamantik bearings have two plastik sides I do not know if I shouldt do this?

Any experiences?
question

Not true! Some people read them (here I am!), and if only a few messages in english get drowned in the french forums, non-french speaking people won't bother to enter and read them anyway.

About opening your bearings : what for?
I open all my bearing sooner or later to clean them, may it be the ones with metal sides or plastic/rubber sides. But the platic/rubber ones usually suffer a bit more from the operation, since I still haven't managed to open them without making at least one little needle hole : They are then less water and humidity resistant than when they're new.

People usually open one side of the bearing in order to make less friction.
In this case, with the diamantik, these bearings are really strong and are not made to have incredible performance. They are stronger and You can jump or ride under the rain without thinking to them.

Very Happy

it is this bearing, you are talking about?
sorry for my bad english...i need to go back to school.

I use this on my aggressive skate and on my freeride custom with the 2 side closed by the "plastic/rubber sides" and it is OK.
it is true that this kind of bearing is less speed than other at the beginning but after some rides they go faster...
they need to be "done" a little.

The Cell3 bearings come with one side opened, they are very fast and they are resistant, but you have to clean and put grease (lubricant?) more often. If you don't pay attention to this point they will die faster.

anyway, I haven't tried the Diamantik, but I tried other brands like SKF or Powerslide with rustproof cover, I don't like this bearings, they are slower and the "normal" bearings resist almost the same
