We have done this:

5-wheel Speed Frame made to an 163mm 3-wheel frame.
Rocked to 76/80/76 mm.
On a Tecnica Custom Boot.

Using for Rollerdance and Slalom.
What do you think about this idea?

My feeling ? You'd better not try it for downhill Very Happy

To be serious, I'd like to try this. It must be great for tricks like wheelings... But what about other tricks ? Please give us your feedback after trying it Smile

I remember a guy in a shop, told me he did it for a slalom use.
And he told me that it wasn't good.
But try it and tel us about it.

I did not say that we did not try.

It was very cool, it shouldt be a mixture between Quads and Slalom Skates and it was. I wouldt not use it for marathons, but for dancing it's good. But THIS Frame was to light, it broke at playing soccer...
Surprised

Hello.
To begin, sorry for my approximative speaking.
So, have you got some translation in french or in english. Some of us can't speak deutch, but I think that your report would interest a lot of farfers. Or maybe could you simply tell us a little bit more about the test with a small resume?
For my concern, I'm interested in the slalom's possibilities (even if I think that would be to reactive).
Thank you.

The idea was it to?rtragen the advantages of a Quads with the Rollerdance on Inline Skates. Above all the agility and with high engine speedness on the place is with the Rollerdance an unbeatable advantage of the Quads gegen?r Inline Skates. An extremely short Frame had ago!

The conversion:
One takes a rumliegendes 5-Roller Speedframe and s? simply
the two?sersten roles off. That results in a Framel?e of only in this case
163 mm(!). The whole comes then to a compatible Customskate and becomes also
Roles best?t (nat?ich fully gerockt 76-80-76. If already, because already...)

The test result:
The agility is indescribable. Rubber foot goes automatically.
It ben?gt itself unbelievably little strength, on the front or rear
To place roles. The straight line running out is gew?gsbed?tig, goes however. That
at the same time a nice is?ung, the weight really centric on the Skate
to bring. That boat is not yet ideally, there the Cuff the agility too
much einschr?t. The Frame does not have the H?etest with the Rollersoccer
?rlebt and is broken.

The n?ste prototype becomes better...

Because I was allowed to also drive the Skate, also a comment from me to it.
The freedom of movement is really extreme, and it makes Spa?damit genuine plays. Anschlie?nd seemed to Mr. Hyde and me the very short 4-Roller Frames totally unwendig - everything relatively evenly.
The idea is continued to develop in any case, we s?n already at the n?sten speed Frame.; -)
To the location of fracture was marked, da?das Frame is nat?ich f?3 roles was not built, and Mr. Hyde with the?rfl?igen roles also a whole St? Statics with wegges? has! Besides mu?e it thereby also equivalent extremely Rollersoccern...
Thus please when copying absolutely to very stable Frames pay attention!

Peter

not a single correct sentence in the lot, but it helps get a general feeling of the article.
(nb german=>french translations are also possible, with the same inimitable random quality Wink )

PS : you should try it again with a stronger frame if possible... However a 4-wheels frame won't do (it'll be very forward- or backward- centered) and most 5-wheels frame are competition grade, thus thinner and more fragile.
Maybe a custom frame could do, but you'll need someone with the relevant engineering skills and a digital machine-tool too. If you have any fellows studying engineering or mechanics they'd sure be interested in such a project.

I have thought sometimes in this idea. I found a 3 wheel frame of a kids hockey skate.

I'm working on the idea because I think that 160mm it's too short.

I use 160 in my quads, but it's not the same in the inlines.

Anyway, your idea gives me strenght to believe in my idea Very Happy and confirms one of this two theories:
1.- it's possible to skate with a 3wheel frame
2.- both you and me are crazy Very Happy

There are different tries for using inline skates for trad. artistic figure skating. One of the serious ideas look like this like the prof I know says:

Let's mention the so called frontstopper for example. Which was never a device for stopping like we all know since 'stopping' never was a figure of art. fig. skating.

What do you think about this idea?

Peter, I remember an old girl friend of mine who used to skate with figure skating shoes and a 3 wheels inline frame (modified from a 4 wheels frame).

It was in 1997 (not sure), the girl's name is Géraldine Lusardy. It was not bad at all for slalom, she liked it very much Wink

Yes, that was not a very new idea, but it is much better for dancing if you have not this brake-wheel or stopper in the front of the frame.

We don't need to talk to much about this,
take an old Speedframe and try it out!!!
It's real fun!!!

At the moment we use an 76/80/76 setup - this rocks!
