[VIDEO] slalom - Exhibition, Las Palmas, Spain, november 08

about a month ago (november 8th through 11th, 2008), a bunch of local skaters from the Canary Islands of Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Palma and Lanzarote gathered with national skaters from Spain mainland (Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, etc) to do a lot of social skating and especially slalom skating, culminating in an oficial "Slalom Exhibition" organized jointly by "LasPalmasPatina" and "SlalomSkating".

here's my edit of the exhibition featuring material borrowed from the video Plasson made and which was originally posted on Vimeo (basically I just boiled 10 minutes footage down to one and a half and added some audio and effects to spice things up a bit) :

anyways, anyone planning on visiting the Canaries anytime will probably want to bring their skates along; as you can see, slaloming is quite possible and can practically be practised all year round.

incidentally, it appears that dates have just been confirmed today for an IFSA event in may 2009 in the Canary Islands...

...and as from what I understand, it will take place less than a kilometer from where this video was shot! (it was made from an freestyle slalom exhibition in the month of November, just imagine what the weather might be like in May! bring sunshades and sunlotion! )
