Surprise !!!
I collected some paleolithic footage of freestyle slalom runs and after a bit of editing you can see some very old contest run of freestyle dated back from '96 to '98

Enough talk...go watching !

That is less prehistoric that i though. There is a lot of lines but just 1 quad?
I wasn't here (I was 6) I don't know what was the slalom in 1998-97 but i tought there was more quads.

There were 50/50 quad/inline in Lausanne '96, but footage missing.
Sorry. |

In fact I'm surprised!
I didn't know/think that there were Freestyle-Slalom competitions more than 10 years ago already. And it doesn't look sooo very different from today!
And this D. Lenzi guy, he had a very nice, smooth style even back then!
Thanks!
BTW: Those cones that look a bit like cups of yoghurt, those were the "standard" back then? Who made them?

they were actually "camping glasses" and were used in every comp, a bit bigger than now and at the first windblow you had to hurry pickin' up everything. Also better not to fall on them, very hard plastic... but you could do wheeling spins on them. |

Hello Daniele it's Pascal... still remember you when we all get down from the high Lausanne with Fabien and you're five wheels.
Great to see that memory coming up.
